Joseph Franklin Wills

July 7, 1934 - March 6, 2006

Joseph Franklin Wills, was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Elizabeth M. and Aloysius L. Wills. He entered eternal rest on March 6, 2006 at the Washington Home in Washington, D.C..


 He joined Mt. Joy Baptist Church at an early age, where he served as a boy scout and a Patrol Leader. He has been a life long member of the Mt. Joy Baptist Church. Joe was educated in the District of Columbia Public Schools. He was a graduate of Armstrong Senior High School, the Class of 1953, where he ran track and played football. Joe was united to the late June Celestine Blalock on May 4, 1957. From this union three daughters were born, Joretha, Joyce and Jacquelyn Wills. He joined the U.S. Army on January 3, 1957 where he also played football. He was honorably discharged in January of 1963. After the untimely death of June, he married Marie E. Barner in 1965, who became a loving and caring mother and wife. Marie molded the three girls from toddlers to full womanhood.
